Jody Levy is a Detroit area based artist whose work can be found in private collections across the country. Her work is a form of storytelling, primarily large-scale ink and charcoal on paper and canvas. The work spans various genres from modernism to conceptual theories, some figurative and some abstract.
A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, her work bridges the gap between traditional works on paper and canvas to installation art experiences. Much of the work is site-specific.
Jody is a member of experience design firm o2 creative solutions. For the past 6 years, since the company's inception, Jody has worked with this multi-disciplinary team to create non-traditional theatrical experiences, interactive environments, campaigns and sensorial communications. Based out of the Detroit area, Los Angeles and Chicago, o2 is the first experience-design firm of it's kind with a focus on creating the "talked-about" experience and connecting people. "Installation art meets marketing communication" is the best way to describe their work.
Jody is on the steering committee of the MOCAD (Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit), works with the Variety International Children's Charity, and is a member of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts).
She splits her time between the Detroit-area and Venice Beach, CA.
